What I am not writing in this post is a list of companies, good or bad.  What my intent here is to help you do your “due diligence” before you sign on with any MLM or “work at home” company.

Many MLM home business opportunities are suitable for part time work but, MLM’s are just like any other business–there are good ones and bad ones. You just have to do your home work. I have listed a few tips to help you research the company you are thinking of joining.

We have to develop our listening skills In order to be able to communicate successfully with others.   How well you listen has a major impact on your job effectiveness, and on the quality of your relationships with others.

Are you guilty of any of these traits?

• You become distracted by whatever else may be going on around you.

• You are thinking about what you are going to say when the other person stops speaking.

• You become bored or you lose focus on what the other person is saying.

• You start out listening then if you think you know what is being said; interrupt the person before they have finished talking.

• You assume you know why something is being said and jump on the defensive.

Craigslist can be a great way to buy or sell goods but there are those people out there that are waiting to catch you in a scam.  Below I have listed some things to watch for and help you avoid being caught up in a scam. First Make sure you are really on Craigslist!

The real web address for Craigslist is www.craigslist.org although the www in the URL can usually be replaced with the name of the city whose listings you wish to explore (chicago.craigslist.org, newyork.craigslist.org, or losangeles.craigslist.org). Just make sure that you haven’t ended up at www.craigslist.com or www.craiglist.org or some other common misspelling of the Craigslist domain. There some sites out there that have similar domain names and the owner’s hope that you will make mistake while typing in the URL and end up on their site instead of the one you intended. These imposters are phishing scams with layouts that duplicate the real Craigslist to fool you.

If there’s any doubt, go back and re-type the URL or do a search for “Craigslist” to be sure.

A few ways you can find profitable topics to create products for you can: Search Amazon.com’s Best Sellers List – if you see that there are a lot of best selling books or magazines on a particular topic, you know that that topic would be profitable to create a product around. People like to have their say and are always willing to help and answer any questions that you may have in forums.  If you add a forum to your site, it can be a good way to keep people coming back to your site to join in with the discussions.

Make sure that the topic of your forum is related to your site and what you are selling and you should see a nice increase in traffic.  You should not advertise or publish any other promotional material in the forum as this is considered as SPAM.
